London: The semi-final line-up for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 has been confirmed, with Australia taking on West Indies in the first semi-final on June 30, while South Africa will face England in the second semi-final on July 2.
Both matches will be played at the Oval. The final four was confirmed after Australia beat India by six wickets in their last Group A match at Lord’s on Sunday.
The defeat ended India’s campaign and ensured South Africa a semi-final spot.
South Africa had earlier defeated Bangladesh and were forced to wait for the outcome of the Australia-India clash to decide their fate, with many players staying back to watch the match.
Australia entered the tournament with eight points and were almost assured of qualification due to their superior net run rate, while India and South Africa were tied with six points each. India only needed a win to qualify regardless of the margin of victory.
Batting first, India scored 170 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in the allotted 20 overs. However, Australia chased down the target with an over to spare, finishing the group stage unbeaten with five wins from five matches.
Group B was decided on Saturday, with the West Indies securing a semi-final spot despite a shock loss to Ireland earlier in the tournament.
Having already booked their place in the last four, England’s qualification was confirmed after defeating defending champions New Zealand in the final group-stage game.
West Indies progressed with a better net run rate, while England topped Group B with an unblemished record, winning all five of their matches.
