
Brady: A ground-breaking century from Staphani Taylor, followed by some disciplined bowling, helped West Indies win the third and final ODI against Ireland by 64 runs.
The dominant win saw the visitors sweep the three-match series, having won the previous two matches by nine and six wickets respectively.
With Ireland captain KP Lewis opting to bat first, West Indies were bowled out for 257 in 50 overs thanks to Taylor.
With the scoreboard reading 7/1 in 2.5 overs following the dismissal of captain Hayley Mathews (six), the right-handed batsman walked out to bat at No. 3 and oversaw West Indies’ batting journey till the final ball of the innings.
He returned to top score with 105 off 113 balls and 10 fours, which earned him the man of the match award.
Taylor also shared crucial partnerships with Alia Allen and Jahsara Claxton, contributing 33 and 30 respectively.
For Ireland, Orla Prendergast, Georgina Dempsey and Jane Maguire took 2 wickets each and Aimee Maguire took one wicket.
Chasing a tough target of 258 to avoid a series whitewash, Ireland were bowled out for 193 in 43.1 overs despite a half-century from skipper Lewis.
Lewis stood out for Ireland with a brave 50 off 59 balls and Leah Ball and Amy Hunter were the other notable run-getters with 32 and 30 respectively.
Affi Fletcher and Karisma Ramharak combined for three wickets each in the West Indies bowling, followed by skipper Mathews with two, while Janillia Glasgow chipped in with a scalp.
