KARACHI: The Pakistan team left Jinnah International Airport on Sunday midnight for Bangladesh ahead of the two-match Test series from May 8 to 20.

Part of the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) 2025-27 cycle, the series will begin with the first Test at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka from May 8-12.

The second Test will be played at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium from May 16-20.

Peshawar Zalmi captain Babar Azam and paceman Khurram Shahzad will be absent from the traveling Test squad, who will represent their team in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 11 final against Hyderabad Kingsmen on Sunday at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.

Both will accompany the team to Bangladesh at the end of the tournament.

It is to be noted that after the successful completion of the four-day training camp of the national team in Karachi, the team left for the host country.

During the camp, players participated in physical training sessions and situation-based competitions. The coaching staff sets different goals in these practice games to gauge performance in different competitive situations.

The physical fitness of the players was given special emphasis throughout the camp. The training sessions were also adjusted according to the conditions to better prepare the team for the upcoming challenges.

Shaun Masood will continue to lead the team, while four uncapped players – Abdullah Fazal, Amat Butt, Azan Awais and Muhammad Qazi Ghori – have received national call-ups.
