Bengaluru: Indian batting legend Virat Kohli on Wednesday surpassed Sachin Tendulkar’s record of becoming the fastest to 16,000 runs in List A cricket.
Earlier today, Kohli achieved a unique milestone while representing Delhi in the Vijay Hazare Trophy match against Andhra Pradesh at the BCCI Center of Excellence, during which he smashed a quick-fire century.
His 58th century, in his 330th List A innings, broke the 16000-run barrier, 61 runs short of Tendulkar, who now moves into second place on the elusive list alongside Australia’s Ricky Ponting, England’s Graham Cooch and West Indies’ Gordon Greenidge.

- Virat Kohli (India) – 330 innings

- Gordon Greenidge (West Indies) – 422 innings

Meanwhile, in the Group D match of the Vijay Hazara Trophy between Mumbai and Sikkim, another former India captain, Rohit Sharma, etched his name in the history books by scoring 155 runs.
The right-handed batsman dominated the Sikkim bowlers, smashing them with 18 fours and 9 sixes as he amassed 155 runs off just 94 balls.
He equaled former Australian cricketer David Warner for the most 150-plus dismissals by a batsman in List A cricket.
