
Abu Dhabi: The Emirates Cricket Board (ECB) on Friday announced the 15-man United Arab Emirates (UAE) squad for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 to be held in India and Sri Lanka from February 7 to March 8.
Star top-order batsman Muhammad Wasim will continue to lead the emerging team at the mega event, with their squad featuring experienced players including Alishan Sharabu, Haider Ali, Junaid Siddiqui and Rohit Khan.
The United Arab Emirates booked their place in the 20-team tournament by defeating Japan in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Asia & East Asia-Pacific (EAP) qualifiers in a Super Six clash in Oman.
The Gulf nation has previously participated in two editions of the T20 World Cup in 2012 and 2022, recording group-stage results in each appearance.
The UAE is currently hosting a two-match T20I series in Ireland, which concludes on Saturday, to fine-tune their preparations for the mega event.
They will then travel to Chennai to put the finishing touches to their preparations by participating in two practice matches against Nepal and Italy on February 3 and 6 respectively.
UAE will formally begin their T20 World Cup 2026 campaign on February 10 by taking on New Zealand at the same venue.
They will then travel to New Delhi where they will play the remaining group-stage matches against Canada, Afghanistan and South Africa on February 13, 16 and 18.
