Reigning Big Bash League (PBL) champions Perth Scorchers on Monday announced their squad for the Guyana Super League (GSL) scheduled to play from August 7 to September 20.

Australia’s experienced middle-order batsman Ashton Turner, who led Multan Sultans in this year’s Pakistan Super League (PSL), has been appointed as the captain of the Scorchers XI.

Mookim, who is currently representing Derbyshire in the ongoing Vitality Blast 2026, finished as PSL 11’s leading wicket-taker with 22 scalps in 11 innings at a remarkable average of 14.40, thus also being adjudged the man of the tournament.

Usman, on the other hand, amassed 389 runs in 11 innings at a decent average of 35.36 and a whopping strike rate of 162.76 to become the fourth highest run-scorer in the eight-team tournament. He also recorded a century and three fifties.

Meanwhile, the Scorchers’ overseas stock includes New Zealand’s Mark Chapman, South Africa’s Dion Forrester and West Indies duo Akeem Auguste and Akhil Hossain.

The Scorchers, who clinched a record sixth BBL title earlier this year, will begin their GSL 2026 campaign when they face three-time PSL champions Lahore Qalandars at the Providence Stadium in Guyana on August 7, where all 12 matches will be played, including the final.

The five-team tournament will also feature ILT20’s Desert Vipers, Major League Cricket’s (MLC) San Francisco Unicorns and Caribbean Premier League (CPL) side Guyana Amazon Warriors.
