BIRMINGHAM: Tickets for the much-anticipated ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 clash between arch-rivals India-Pakistan have sold out, the International Cricket Council (ICC) confirmed on Sunday.
The ICC issued an announcement through its official social media platforms, advising fans not to visit the designated ticket counters for Sunday’s blockbuster match as additional tickets will not be available at the gates.
“Edgbaston sold out for today’s T20 World Cup double-header,” the ICC posted.
“A busy day of cricket is underway as Netherlands take on Bangladesh before the India-Pakistan match. No additional tickets will be available at the gates,” it added.
Notably, Pakistan women have featured in every edition of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup since its inception in 2009. However, despite consistent participation, they did not progress beyond the group stage.
Sana Mir led the team in the first five editions from 2009 to 2016, each time Pakistan exited at the group stage. Javeria Khan captained the team in 2018 but the result remained the same.
The trend continued under Bisma Maruf, who led the team in the 2020 and 2023 editions, while Fatima Sana, in her first stint as captain, also led Pakistan in the group stage in 2024.
Historically, India have won 13 of the 16 T20 Internationals between the two teams, with Pakistan winning three.
