ISLAMABAD: The trophy for the three-match ODI series between Pakistan and Australia was unveiled at a local hotel in the capital on Friday as both teams geared up for the first 50-over bilateral match in Pakistan since 2022.
The opening match of the series will be played in Rawalpindi on Saturday.
The silverware was unveiled by Pakistan captain Shaheen Shah Afridi and his Australian counterpart Josh Inglis, who posed with the trophy during the ceremony.
The cup has a sleek, modern design with a tall, thin silver body from a small rectangular base.
Its minimal structure is defined by smooth vertical lines. With its glass-finish metallic surface, the trophy has a contemporary and premium championship aesthetic.
After the opening match in Rawalpindi, the series will shift to Lahore for the second and third ODIs on June 2 and June 4 respectively. The toss for the three matches is scheduled for 4:00 pm (BST), with the first ball bowled at 4:30 pm (BST).
Australia return to Pakistan for a 50-over bilateral series, marking the country’s first ODI tour since March-April 2022, when Pakistan won the series 2-1 at home.
The two teams met earlier this year in a three-match T20I series in January-February, where Pakistan prevailed 3-0 in Lahore.
