
Colombo: Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) on Monday announced the final 15-man squad for the 2026 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, co-hosted by India from February 7 to March 8.
All-rounder Dasun Shanaka will lead the former champions in the 20-team tournament, whose squad features an experienced core of Padam Nissanga, Kusal Mendis, Kusal Perera and Sarith Asalanga.
Former captain Vanindu Hazaranga will lead Sri Lanka’s all-rounder line-up with Kamindu Mendis and Dunit Vellalake, while their bowling unit consists of established pacers Dushmantha Sameera and Madisha Pathirana, with Mahish Dikshana set to provide a specialist spin option.
Sri Lanka, placed in Group B, will begin their campaign against Ireland on February 8 before leaving for Pallekale for their next two group-stage matches against Oman and Australia on February 12 and 16.
The co-hosts will return here on February 19 for their last group-stage game against Zimbabwe.
The 2014 champions are currently engaged in a three-match home T20I series against England, in which the tourists lead 2-0. The third and final match is scheduled for Tuesday.
