KARACHI: Pakistan left-arm opener Saim Ayub has been named in seven overseas signings by the Jamaica Kingsmen for this year’s Caribbean Premier League (CPL) to be played from August 7 to September 20.
Ayub, who has represented Pakistan in 67 T20Is so far, was accompanied by his teammates Usman Khan, Hunain Shah and Mas Sadaq and teammates Hasan Khan and Shayan Jahangir from Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise Hyderabad Kingsmen, who finished second in this year’s extravaganza.
Jamaica Kingsmen’s foreign signings include Pakistan’s 19-year-old batsman Dayab Arif, who was part of the Hyderabad franchise in PSL 2026.
The recently announced overseas signings will join the likes of Andre Russell in the Jamaica squad, finalized after the new franchise offered the chance to add top local players who were unchallenged in the draft.
Notably, the Jamaica-based franchise will return to the CPL after a gap of two years after being acquired by Fawad Sarwar-owned Kingsmen Sports Enterprises.
Returning to the CPL, the Kingsmen will kick off their campaign with a curtain-raiser against the Antigua and Barbuda Falcons at the Arnos Vale Stadium in Kingstown on August 7.
