CAPE TOWN: Paarl Royals cruised to a 7-wicket victory over MI Cape Town thanks to Sikandar Raza’s brilliant bowling and Asa Tripp’s power back innings in the 13th match of the ongoing SA20 at Newlands on Sunday.

Batting first, MI Cape Town were bowled out for 88 in 18.4 overs, with Raza claiming four wickets for 13 runs in his four overs.

Nqobani Mokoena and Ottneil Baartman took 2 wickets each and Mujeeb ur Rahman took one wicket.

Reesa Hendricks top scored for MI with 18 runs off 24 balls, Ryan Rickleton and Nicholas Pooran with 17 runs each.

Chasing a modest target, Paarl Royals reached 89/3 in 13 overs.

Asa Tripp scored 34 off 28 balls including 3 fours and 2 sixes. Rubin Herman scored 18 and captain David Miller remained unbeaten on 19 off 9 balls with 2 fours and a six.

For the MI Cape Town side, Trent Boult, Rashid Khan and Corbin Bosch took one wicket each.

With this win, Paarl Royals moved up to the second spot in the SA20 points table, boasting three wins and one loss from four games, amassing 13 points with a net run rate of -1.070.
