LAHORE: The newly merged Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise will unveil its logo and president’s name today, Sialkot team co-owner Kamil Khan announced on Saturday.

Khan confirmed the development during a media interaction here, while mentioning that the franchise management is keen to build a competitive team by attracting some of the best players in the world for the upcoming PSL season.

“Our aim is to bring the best international talent to the Sialkot team,” said Khan. “At the same time, we will rely on a strong local coaching staff to develop our players and represent the region with pride.”

The Sialkot co-owner also expressed hope that the PSL matches will attract huge crowds wherever they are held.

“Wherever the PSL is played, fans flock,” he said. “The league has grown to become a major attraction for cricket lovers across the country.”

Khan said he was looking forward to Sialkot’s matches, especially against Lahore Qalandars, describing the match as competitive and friendly.

“The match against Lahore Qalandars will be interesting. We are rivals on the field but we are also friends,” he added.

He lauded the PSL platform for helping Pakistan cricket grow, asserting that “PSL will move forward and become stronger”.

He also mentioned that major decisions regarding franchise will be finalized in consultation with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).

Everything will be finalized in coordination with PCB,” he said.

Notably, Sialkot became the eighth PSL side after being fetched by OZ Developers for a record Rs 1.85 billion in a star-studded auction held in Islamabad on Thursday.
