Mirpur: Pakistan pacer Shaheen Afridi reached the ICC World Test Championship milestone on the opening day of the first Test against the Bangladesh national cricket team at the Shere Bangla National Stadium on Friday.

The left-arm fast bowler etched his name in the record books as the first Pakistani bowler to complete 100 wickets in the history of the ICC World Test Championship.

Afridi achieved the milestone by dismissing Bangladeshi opener Mahmud Hasan Joy during the opening day’s match.

With the feat, the 26-year-old became the 19th bowler overall to take 100 wickets in the World Test Championship (WTC) and further cemented his status as Pakistan’s leading wicket-taker in the tournament.
