KARACHI: Mohammad Suleman’s unbeaten century followed by Mohammad Mohsin’s four-wicket haul helped Pakistan Television (PTV) to a 47-run win over State Bank of Pakistan (SBB) in the 25th match of the President’s Cup Grade-1.

The win marked PTV’s fourth win in the eight-team tournament and catapulted them into the semi-finals.

Batting first, PTV scored 277/9 in the allotted 50 overs thanks to a 119-run partnership between Suleman and Mohammad Taha.

The side had a mixed start to their innings as they were reduced to 40/4 before Taha and Suleman anchored the innings.

After scoring 51 off 77 balls with three sixes and 2 fours, the crucial partnership ended with Taha’s dismissal.

Suleman, on the other hand, put on another crucial partnership for PTV as he added 62 runs for the sixth wicket alongside Jahandad Khan, who hit 41 off 24 balls with four sixes and 2 fours.

The middle-order batsman later stitched one-sided partnerships with PTV’s batting tail and retreated after top-scoring with an unbeaten 113 off 109 balls with nine fours and five sixes.

For SBP, Kaship Patti took four wickets, Shahid Aziz took three wickets and Qasim Akram and Salman Ali Agha took one wicket each.

In turn, despite opener Hasan Raza’s half-century, SBB’s batting unit were bowled out for 230 in 40.4 overs.

Hasan remained on top with 50 off 55 balls, while Kaship Bhatti (44) scored the other notable runs.

Mohsin took four wickets off PTV’s bowling while Jahandad grabbed two wickets. Israr Hussain, Ali Usman and Faisal Akram chipped in a scalp each.
