KARACHI: Multan Sultans registered their fifth win of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 11 at the National Bank Stadium on Sunday, beating home team Karachi Kings by 11 runs.

According to the updated PSL points table, Sultans have climbed from the third position to the second position with five wins and two losses, collecting 10 points and boasting a healthy net run rate of 0.529.

Meanwhile, Karachi Kings, who suffered their fourth straight defeat, are seventh with three wins, four losses and six points, with a net run rate of -1.368.

At the top of the table, Peshawar Zalmi continued to dominate with six wins and one drop from seven matches, amassing 13 points and an impressive net run rate of 2.404.

Islamabad United are third with four wins, two losses and one wash-out match, with nine points at a net run rate of 1.481.

Batting first, Multan Sultans, led by Ashton Turner, produced a brilliant batting display as their top order amassed 207-7 in 20 overs.

Shaun Masood scored 46 off 25 balls with 3 fours and 3 sixes, while wicketkeeper-batsman Josh Phillip scored 44 off 23 balls with 5 fours and 2 sixes.

Opener Awais Zafar scored 36 off 27 balls including 5 fours and a six, while Mohammad Imran scored 26 off 8 balls with 2 fours and 2 sixes.

For Karachi Kings, Khushdil Shah was the best bowler, returning 3/35 from his four overs. Moeen Ali took 2 wickets and Adam Jamba and Hasan Ali took one each.

In reply, Karachi Kings were bowled out for 196 in 19.4 overs despite late opposition from Abbas Afridi and Hasan Ali.

Abbas played a blistering 34 off 16 balls with 3 fours and 2 sixes, while Hasan added 23 runs off 10 balls including 2 sixes.

Reesa Hendricks top scored for Kings with 49 off 32 balls with 5 fours and 2 sixes.

On the bowling side, Arafat Minhas took 3/32 from three overs for the Sultans. Peter Siddle took 2 wickets and Mohammad Imran, Ashton Turner and Momin Qamar took one each to secure the win.
