KARACHI: The playoff lineups for Pakistan Super League (PSL) 11 were confirmed after three-time champions Islamabad United beat 2021 winners Multan Sultans by four wickets in the last league-level match at the National Bank Stadium here on Sunday.
Although all four teams have already been decided to qualify for the next stage, openers Hyderabad Kingsmen secured a 108-run win over RawalPindiz in Sunday’s double-header evening match, which is crucial for United and Sultans.
In a high-stakes match, United skipper Shadab Khan won the toss and elected to field first, and the Sultans combined efforts to amass a mammoth total of 192/7 on the board.
Chasing a tough target of 193 runs, United easily smashed the winning runs by six wickets and 8 balls to finish second.
Instead, Sultans take on the Kingsmen in Eliminator 1 at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on Wednesday.
The winner of the qualifier between Zalmi and United will advance directly to the PSL 11 final, while the loser will get another chance to face the winner of Eliminator 1 in the second eliminator match at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on May 1.
The winner of Eliminator 2 will face the winner of the qualifiers in the final on May 3 in Lahore.
