KARACHI: Former champions Karachi Kings have given a fresh update on the return timeline of UAE players Muhammad Waseem and Quzaima bin Tanveer in the 11th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL).
Team director Haider Azhar confirmed that both the cricketers will return to Karachi on Tuesday and will be available for selection for Kings’ next match against Peshawar Zalmi at the National Bank Stadium on Thursday.
Earlier, sources in the Kings management indicated that the duo had left for their home country after being recalled by the Emirates Cricket Board (ECB).
Former Kings captain Wasim and Quzaima have been advised by the UAE cricket authorities to participate in the domestic T50 tournament.
Sources close to the matter confirmed that the board has issued a direct order to the players to return immediately and participate in the ongoing 50-over tournament.
However, in a move that will bring some relief to the franchise, both the players are expected to rejoin Karachi Kings after playing two matches in the D50 tournament.
They have been allowed to return to the PSL following the conclusion of those matches.
Wasim has played three PSL matches for his team so far – a duck out in the opener against Quetta Gladiators, 38 runs in his second match for Qilanders and 23 runs against Rawalpindis – Kuzaima is yet to make his PSL debut.
Anvers, the David Warner-led Kings are currently at the top of the PSL 11 points table with three wins from three matches, six points and a net run rate of 0.486.
