Lahore: Multan Sultans fast bowler Arshad Iqbal talks about his experience in Pakistan Super League (PSL) 11.
Expressing a mixture of disappointment and gratitude following the conclusion of Sultans’ campaign, Iqbal reflected on his time with the franchise in a post on social media platform ‘X’.
While he admitted that getting game time was difficult, the 25-year-old emphasized the learning experience, behind-the-scenes development and support he received from team management throughout the tournament.
“Alhamdulillah, my PSL journey has come to an end. Didn’t get a chance to get on the field-tough to take-but thanks for the experience, lessons and development behind the scenes. Thanks to Multan Sultans, management and Gohar Shah for the support. The journey continues,” he wrote.
Notably, Arshad had earlier represented Karachi Kings and Peshawar Zalmi in different editions in four PSL seasons.
The right-arm fast bowler has played 24 matches in the tournament and has taken 25 wickets at an economy rate of 9.22.
Meanwhile, Multan Sultans’ PSL 11 campaign came to a disappointing end as they were relegated following a defeat against debutants Kingsmen.
Electing to field first, Kingsmen captain Marnus Labuschagne made an impactful decision as his side restricted the 2021 champions to 159/9, despite Shaun Masood’s battling half-century.
Chasing a target of 160 runs in reply, the Kingsmen lost just 2 wickets and managed to win with 28 balls to spare.
Mas Sadaq and Usman Khan scored identical 64 runs off 33 and 35 balls in the innings.
Despite an early exit, Ashton Turner-led Multan Sultans had a solid league-level performance, finishing third with six wins from 10 matches, collecting 12 points and posting a net run rate of 0.326.
