
DALLAS: Luann-Tre Pretorius, Matthew Short and Harris Rauf scored a brilliant maiden century as the San Francisco Unicorns beat New York MI by nine wickets in a Major League Cricket (MLC) 2026 clash at the Grand Prairie Stadium on Wednesday.
Asked to bat first, MI were restricted to 143/9 in the allotted 20 overs as New York’s top order failed to form substantial partnerships.
Opener Ryan Rickeldon top scored with 35 off 21 balls with 4 fours and 2 sixes. Sunny Patel provided useful support with a 23-ball 32 including 3 fours and a six.
Captain Nicholas Pooran scored 19 runs off 24 balls with a four and a six, while Kieran Pollard added 16 runs off 13 balls with 2 fours and a six.
Corey Anderson was unbeaten on 12 off 16 balls, with a solitary six in his innings, while Romario Shepherd remained unbeaten on 11 off 9 balls, hitting a four and a six.
Elsewhere, Quinton de Kock hit a six, Monak Patel was dismissed for a run and Trent Boult hit a four off two balls.

In reply, a sensational unbeaten century from opener Luan-Tre Pretorius saw the Unicorns easily chase down the target with the loss of just one wicket in 15.4 overs.
The South African scored an unbeaten 102 off 52 balls, hitting 10 fours and 5 sixes to lead his innings to victory.
Finn Allen scored 20 runs off 17 balls including 3 fours while captain Matthew Short added 19 runs off 25 balls with a four.
