Adelaide: Veteran fast bowler Hasan Ali joined the Pakistan bowlers’ list on Tuesday during the Big Bash League (PBL) match between Adelaide Strikers and Sydney Thunder at the Adelaide Oval.
Haasan, who represents the Strikers in the ongoing league, bowled tight lines and lengths during his first over in the aforementioned match and did not allow the opposition batsmen David Warner and Matthew Gilks to score a single run with their bats.
Although Warner snuck a leg-bye off the third delivery, Hasan managed to keep a clean sheet in his first over as leg-byes were not counted in the bowler’s count.
Arafat first achieved this unique feat by bowling a maiden over when he represented the Perth Scorchers against the Melbourne Renegades in the 2013 edition of the league and when he represented Hasnain against the Strikers in 2022.

- Mohammad Hasnain (Sydney Thunder) vs Adelaide Strikers in 2022
- Hasan Ali (Adelaide Strikers) vs Sydney Thunder in 2026*
The Pakistan international kept his discipline and eventually finished with economical bowling figures of 1/22 from his four overs, playing a key role in the Strikers’ 6-run win over the Thunder. In England bowling, all-rounder Jamie Overton took 3 wickets and Lloyd Pope took 2 wickets.
Batting first, the Strikers posted an impressive total of 165/8 in their allotted 20 overs, led by middle-order batsman Liam Scott, who scored an unbeaten 49 off 32 balls with 7 boundaries.
