Saihlet: Faheem Ashraf’s economical bowling followed by Mahmudullah’s sizzling cameo helped Rangpur Raiders to a 6-wicket win over Sylhet Titans in the 10th match of the 2025-26 Bangladesh Premier League (BPL).
Chasing a target of 145 runs, the visitors grabbed the winning runs with four wickets and 7 balls to spare thanks to Mahmudullah’s late blitz.
The 39-year-old anchored a 25-ball 35 and walked out to bat at No. 5 with the scoreboard reading 78/3 in 13 overs following the dismissal of top-scorer Liton Das.
Mahmudullah then put on a 17-run partnership for the fourth wicket when he fell to Ethan Brooks after a 29-ball 31 with Kyle Meyers.
Needing 50 off 31 balls, Mahmudullah attacked the Titans bowlers and took the Raiders to a thrilling victory in the last over.
He scored an unbeaten 34 off 16 balls with 5 fours and a six, which earned him the man of the match award.
Nasum Ahmed, Khalid Ahmed, Saim Ayub and Brooks took one wicket each for the Titans side.
Batting first, the Titans posted 144/8 in 20 overs, despite a 66-run fifth-wicket partnership between Afif Hossain and Brooks.
Hossain remained the top scorer with 46 off 31 balls with fours and a six, while Brooks scored 32 off 30 balls with 2 fours and a six.
Apart from them, only Faheem-led Raiders with openers Ronnie Talukdar (19), Saim Ayub (11) and wicket-keeper batsman Pervez Hossain Emon (15) managed to score double figures against the bowling attack.
For the Raiders, Faheem and Mustafizur Rahman claimed three wickets each, with the former conceding 18 runs in his four overs and the left-arm pacer conceding 24 runs in a very economical manner.
Their efforts were supported by Mruthunjoy Chaudhary and Al Islam.
The six-wicket win lifted Rangpur Raiders to third place in the BPL 2025-26 standings with four points from three matches, ahead of Sylhet Titans, who have four points but a lower net run rate and have played a game more.
