Sylhet: Four wickets from Pakistan all-rounder Amir Jamal helped Chattogram Royals beat home team Sylhet Titans by 14 runs in the 16th match of the 2025-26 Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium on Wednesday.

Batting first, Royals amassed 198/5 in the allotted 20 overs thanks to their combined efforts.

Royals opener Adam Rossington remained the top scorer with a blistering 49 off 38 balls with 6 fours and a six.

His efforts were complemented by fellow top-order batsman Mahmudul Hasan Joy’s 21-ball 44, while skipper Mahedi Hasan scored an unbeaten 33 off 13 balls.

Among the Titans’ bowlers was Ruel Mia, who took 3 wickets for 41 runs in his four overs, while Moeen Ali and Asmatullah Omarzai claimed one wicket each.

Chasing a tough target of 199 to win, the Titans scored 184 runs in 19.4 overs thanks to the action of Afif Hossain.

The left-handed batsman top-scored for the Titans with 46 off 33 balls with 4 fours and 2 sixes, while number 10 Khalid Ahmed (25) and fellow top-order batsman Tawfiq Khan (23) were the notable scorers.

Jamal led the Royals’ bowling, conceding just 34 runs in his four overs, followed by Tanveer Islam and Shoriful Islam with two each and Abu Haider and Hasan Nawaz chipping in with a scalp each.

The 14-run win took Chattogram Royals past Rangpur Raiders to top the BPL 2025-26 standings thanks to the best net run rate as both teams have eight points, while Sylhet Titans are third with six points from seven matches.
