
LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has approved the budget for the national men’s team to play a tri-series against Ireland and Zimbabwe in the 2026-27 financial year, sources told Geo Super on Monday.
In the budget for the financial year 2026-27, the cricket board has approved the budget for the new and planned men’s and women’s cricket series, which will include a tri-series against Ireland and Zimbabwe, according to insiders.
Notably, the tri-series against Ireland and Zimbabwe will be the second series for the national men’s team as they are already scheduled to face Sri Lanka and England in tri-series ODIs this year.
Sources further shared that during the tour of Pakistan, the Ireland men’s team will play a Test, while the Green Shirts are scheduled to host Sri Lanka and New Zealand.
Sri Lanka will tour Pakistan for two Tests and three T20Is, while New Zealand play two red-ball matches against the home side.
During the financial year, the Pakistan Men’s team will tour Ireland for one Test and England for five ODIs and one red ball match.
Meanwhile, the national women’s cricket team is set to host a three-match T20I series in New Zealand. They will then tour the West Indies for three ODIs and several T20Is.
Also, the Pakistan Shaheens are set to tour Australia for eight T20Is in the next financial year, while the England Under-19 team will travel to Pakistan to play three one-day matches and two three-day matches.
Also, the Sri Lanka Under-17 team is scheduled to tour Pakistan, while the PCB will also host the Women’s Under-19 tri-series featuring Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.
Sources further revealed that the PCB Governing Council has also approved men’s domestic, women’s domestic and regional level tournaments for the financial year 2026-27.
