KARACHI: The Pakistan U19 men’s cricket team left for Dubai on Wednesday to participate in the Asia Cup 2025 to be held in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) from December 12 to 21.
Under the guidance of former Pakistan captain Sarfaraz Ahmed, the team underwent an extensive seven-day camp at the Hanif Mohammad High Performance Center where budding national cricketers participated in practice sessions apart from practice matches.
Sarfaraz, appointed manager and mentor of the U19 men’s national cricket team, backed the team to put up “strong performances” in the eight-team tournament.
He further shared that the team will participate in a training session ahead of the U19 Asia Cup according to the conditions in the Gulf region.
“We have done our best and reminded the players that they are Pakistan’s best young cricketers. Their strong performances have earned them a place in the team and we have given them full support and confidence,” Sarfaraz told PCB Digital before the team left for Dubai.
“We are confident that they will give Pakistan a strong performance. In the last seven days, the players have been working very hard and training intensively.
“We will have a training session before the Asia Cup and we hope the team will settle down soon and perform well in the tournament. To be the best team in the tournament, you have to be consistent in all three matches.”
For the uninitiated, the Green Shirts, who are drawn in Group A, will lock horns with Malaysia at the Sevens Stadium in Dubai and begin their U19 Asia Cup 2025 campaign on December 12.
Pakistan will face arch-rivals India at the ICC Academy Stadium on December 14, while their final group-stage match is scheduled to take place on December 16 against the United Arab Emirates at the same venue.
