KARACHI: Pakistan maintained their unbeaten home record against the African side with a 206-run win over Zimbabwe in the second women’s one-day international to take a 2-0 lead in the three-match series.

Chasing 344 runs, Zimbabwe were bowled out for 137 runs in 39 overs.

The emphatic victory marked Pakistan’s biggest win in women’s ODIs since 193 against the Netherlands at Fatullah in 2011.

Biggest win (by runs) for Pakistan in Women’s ODIs

  • 206 runs against Zimbabwe – Karachi, 2026
  • 193 against Netherlands – Fatullah, 2011
  • 168 vs Zimbabwe – Karachi, 2026
  • 157 against Ireland – Dublin, 2013
  • 153 against Japan – Amsterdam, 2003

Opting to bat first, Pakistan produced a confident batting performance in an important match ahead of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026.

It is notable that the openers Gul Beroza and Shatab Shamas dominated from the start and scored 189 runs in 31 overs.

The two recorded the second-highest opening partnership by a Pakistani pair in ODI history.

Chitra Amin and Muneefa Ali set the highest opening stand for Pakistan Women in an ODI against Ireland at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore in November 2022.

Both batsmen scored their maiden ODI centuries, with Ferozha also registering the fastest century by a Pakistani player in women’s ODIs, reaching the milestone in just 93 balls.

Before this, Chitra Amin had scored a century in 97 balls against South Africa last year.

Despite Zimbabwe breaking the opening line in the end, valuable contributions from Chitra Amin (59 not out from 58 balls), Fatima Sana (25 from 13 balls) and Alia Riaz (27 from 14 balls) helped Pakistan reach a huge score.

This total is Pakistan’s highest ODI score at home and their highest score in a winning cause.

In reply, Zimbabwe struggled early in the chase and were bowled out for 137 despite opposition from Kelis Ndlovu (32), Beloved Bisa (29) and Runyararo Pasipanodia (33 not out).

Pakistan captain Fatima Sana led the bowling with 3 for 15, supported by Syeda Aroop Shah (2 for 18), Ramin Shamim (2 for 20) and Momina Riyasad (2 for 39).

The third and final ODI, a day-night match, will be played on May 9 in Karachi.
