Cox’s Bazar: Barira Saif’s frugal bowling figures of 3/16 helped Pakistan to a six-wicket win against Bangladesh in the fifth and final T20I of the U19 Women’s series at the Sheikh Kamal International Cricket Stadium on Friday.

The win was a remarkable turnaround for Pakistan as they won two matches to clinch the series 3-2.

Pakistan skipper Emman Nasir’s decision to field first paid off as his side’s bowling unit managed a modest 84 runs in 19.1 overs.

Middle-order batsman Sadia Akhtar struggled for Bangladesh, scoring 27 runs off 28 balls with 3 fours.

Apart from her, no Bangladeshi batsman could muster double figures against a spirited Pakistan bowling attack led by Pareira, who claimed three wickets for just 16 runs in his four overs.

For his economical bowling performance, Parira was adjudged man of the match in the series decider.

Pareira’s efforts were supported by Rosina Akram, who bagged two wickets, while Memunah Khalid, Sher Bano and Aqsa Habib chipped in with a scalp each.

In reply, the Green Shirts made light work of the 85-run target as they chased down the total with four wickets and 18 balls to spare.

For the visitors, leading opener Komal Khan scored a cautious 25 off 46 balls while Aqsa Habib scored 21 off 23 balls with the help of 2 fours.

Following their exit, middle-order batsmen Fissa Fiyaz and Areesha Ansari led Pakistan with an unbeaten 16 for the fifth wicket.

Fissa, who had scored a match-winning half-century in the previous match, was unbeaten on 18 off 14 balls, while Arisha was unbeaten on 7 off 10 balls.

Otoshi Majumter, Farjana Easmin and Habiba Islam Pinki took one wicket each for Bangladesh.
