Oman have announced their 15-man squad for the 2026 T20 World Cup, with Jatinder Singh to lead the squad. Wicket keeper-batter Vinayak Shukla will act as his partner.
Notably absent from the squad is 43-year-old all-rounder Amir Kaleem, one of Oman’s best players in the recent Asia Cup.
Kaleem, who scored two fifties in the tournament for Oman and featured in the World Cup qualifiers, was not included in the final squad.
Five changes have been made to the Oman squad that played in the Asia Cup.
All-rounders Wasim Ali, Karan Sonawal, Jay Odetra and fast bowlers Shafiq John and Jithan Ramanandhi have been included in the squad.
While Ramanandhi, Odetra and Wasim Ali had previously featured in the T20 World Cup qualifiers, Shafiq made his Oman debut alongside Sonawal in the Asia Cup Rising Stars tournament.
Opener Jatinder Singh, the team’s most experienced player and highest run-getter in T20 Internationals, missed the previous edition of the T20 World Cup but will now lead the side as captain.
Oman competes in Group B alongside Sri Lanka, Australia, Zimbabwe and Ireland. The team will begin their campaign against Zimbabwe on February 9.
