AUCKLAND: New Zealand Cricket has confirmed one of the most anticipated tours in recent memory, with the Indian national cricket team set to visit New Zealand for a blockbuster all-format series during the 2026-27 home summer.

The tour will be held from October 22 to December 1, 2026 and will consist of five T20 Internationals, five One Day Internationals and two Tests.

The 12-match tour is the biggest incoming international tour ever conducted by the NZC and will be staged across five major centers in the country.

The New Zealand government will support the tour as part of celebrations marking 100 years of sporting ties between New Zealand and India.

The series will mark Sky New Zealand’s return as host broadcaster of New Zealand cricket internationals under a new six-season partnership.

The domestic summer will feature 42 days of international cricket across eight cities, giving fans across the country the chance to see both the New Zealand national cricket team and the New Zealand women’s national cricket team.

NZC chief marketing and commercial officer Glenn Critchley said the schedule was one of the most important home summers in the company’s history.

“It doesn’t get any bigger than India and we’re committed to giving New Zealand players no other tour,” Critchley said. “It will be about cricket on the field – it will be a celebration of New Zealand’s shared history and culture with India, and our growing rivalry and friendship through cricket.

Speaking ahead of New Zealand’s much-anticipated tour of India, he reflected on the exceptional interest the series is expected to generate across the country.

He noted that the presence of global superstars, coupled with India’s largest travel fan base, will create a unique and high-energy atmosphere throughout the tour.

“The interest and following in this team is staggering – some players like Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah are not expected to tour – so we are prepared for the intensity and passion that comes with the tour.

“Experiencing the noise, color and atmosphere of an Indian cricket international is a bucket-list event and I encourage Kiwis to take the opportunity to witness it firsthand.”
