
Dubai: Pakistan off-spinner Abrar Ahmed moved closer to the No. 1 spot in the ICC Men’s ODI Bowling Rankings, while fast bowler Naseem Shah also rose in the latest weekly update released on Wednesday.
The rankings saw several changes following England’s opening ODI against India and Zimbabwe’s ODI series win against Bangladesh.
In the batting rankings, former Pakistan captain Babar Azam has slipped one place to seventh with 689 rating points. All-rounder Salman Ali Agha slipped one place to 16th with 630 points.
Wicketkeeper-batsman Mohammad Rizwan retained his 31st position, while opener Faqar Zaman slipped one place to 36th with 544 points. Saim Ayub also fell one place to 44th position.
New Zealand’s Daryl Mitchell continues to lead the ODI batting rankings, with India captain Shubman Gill in second place, 11 rating points behind. Virat Kohli remains at the third position.
In the bowling rankings, Abrar Ahmed is second and seven rating points behind Afghanistan spinner Rashid Khan, who remains at the top. South Africa’s Keshav Maharaj has overtaken England fast bowler Jofra Archer to move up to the third spot.
Among other Pakistani bowlers, Shaheen Shah Afridi slipped one place to ninth with 604 rating points, while Haris Rauf slipped two places to 22nd. Naseem Shah moved up one place to rank 47th with 477 points, while Mohammad Wasim Jr. retained his 69th position.
In the ODI all-rounders rankings, Salman Ali Agha slipped one place to 11th and Shaheen Afridi moved up to 21st. Abrar Ahmed moved up one place to 31st, whereas Naseem Shah lost one place to 38th.
Saim Ayub moved up one place to 40th, Haris Raoob moved to 47th, Shatab Khan moved up to 61st and Mohammad Nawaz moved up one place to 73rd.
