LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Saturday announced the 15-man individual squads for the ODI and T20I series against Sri Lanka from July 23 to August 4.

According to the recently released squads, Pakistan captain Fatima Sana will continue to lead the Green Shirts in the previous ODI series, while veteran wicketkeeper batsman Muneefa Ali will take over the T20I captaincy of the national team.

Fatima, Pakistan’s regular captain, will miss the T20I series which will take place in The Hundred from July 21 to August 16.

The 24-year-old became the first Pakistani woman cricketer to bag a contract in the women’s edition of The Hundred after signing in the Phoenix Wild Card Draft during the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup.

Apart from Fatima’s absence, Pakistan have made seven changes to the T20I squad that featured in this year’s mega event, with Hamna Bilal, Najiha Alvi, Shawalani, Wahel-Shavalani replacing Alia Riaz, Diana Baig, Gul Feroza, Iram Javed, Natalia Pervaiz, Rameen Shamim and Sadia Iqbal. Akhtar and Eman Naseer are not linked with the trio of Maham Anees and Momina Riyasad.

The national women’s selection committee has also made several changes to the ODI squad that recorded a 3-0 clean sweep against Zimbabwe at home in May as Alia Riaz, Diana Baig, Natalia Pervaiz and Rameen Shamim failed to retain their places.

Notably, Pakistan’s white-ball tour of Sri Lanka will begin on July 23 with the first ODI at the Mahinda Rajapaksa International Cricket Stadium in Hambantota.

Played at the same venue as the ongoing T20I, the matches are scheduled on July 31, August 2 and 4 respectively.

Meanwhile, the Pakistan team will reach Sri Lanka on July 20 and conduct training on July 21 and 22 respectively.
