
Colombo: Pakistan cricket team’s first batch, white-ball head coach Mike Hesson has arrived in Sri Lanka ahead of the three-match T20 series starting on January 7.
The starting line-up includes all-rounders Shatab Khan and Faheem Ashraf, pacers Mohammad Wasim Jr and Salman Mirza.
Head coach Hessen, bowling coach Ashley Noffke, fielding coach and other support staff also landed in Colombo.
Hessen shared a photo of his visit on Instagram with the caption: “38 hour journey from Dunedin to Colombo. Get back to work refreshed.”
The remaining members of the national team and support staff will leave Lahore for Colombo on January 5 afternoon.
The T20I series is scheduled for January 7, 9 and 11, with all matches being played at the Rangiri Dambulla International Cricket Stadium (RDICS), Dambulla.
The series will be an important preparation for Pakistan ahead of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka from February 7 to March 8.
The green shirts will play all their World Cup matches in Colombo.
Historically, the two teams have faced each other in 24 T20Is, of which Pakistan have won 14 and Sri Lanka 10.
