Star batsman Harmanpreet Kaur will lead India for the fifth time in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup, the selectors announced the squad on Saturday.
Wicket-keeper-batter Yastika Bhatia and left-arm spinner Radha Yadav return to international T20 in the 15-man T20 squad for the matches in England and Wales from June 12.
Uncapped pacer Nandani Sharma has been included in the Women’s Premier League 2026 after taking 17 wickets for Delhi Capitals.
Kaur, 37, is the only Indian player to have played in all Women’s T20 World Cups since 2009.
He will have Smriti Mandana as his Vice Chancellor.
“I would rate this team as favorites for sure and the team we picked today, they have the potential to be champions,” Kaur said.
“No pressure, no overconfidence. T20 is about playing good cricket.”
Kaur led India to its maiden ODI World Cup title last year, but the cricket powerhouse’s impressive T20 performance saw them finish runners-up in 2020.
India begins its campaign against arch-rivals Pakistan on June 14 in Birmingham.
They are both in Group 1 with Australia, South Africa, Bangladesh and the Netherlands.
The same Indian team will play a three-match warm-up match against England after recently losing the T20I series 4-1 to South Africa.
The final is scheduled to be played on July 5 at Lord’s.
Kaur’s India will also face England in a one-off Test from July 10, with the 15-man squad announced on Saturday.
