
Sylhet: Imad Wasim’s economical 3/16 led Dhaka Capitals to a five-wicket victory over Rajshahi Warriors in the third match of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) 2025-26 at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium on Saturday.
Batting first, the Warriors scored 132 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in 20 overs thanks to the anchorage of captain Najmul Hossain Shando.
Shando battled it out for his team against a decent Capitals bowling attack and scored a top score of 38 off 27 balls, which included two sixes and several fours, while Pakistan’s Mohammad Nawaz made an unbeaten 26 off one ball.
Imad took 3 wickets conceding just 16 runs in his four overs, followed by Naseer Hossain with 2 wickets and Salman Mirza, Ziaur Rahman and Mohammad Saifuddin with one each.
For his economical bowling, Imad Wasim was adjudged Man of the Match.
Chasing a modest target of 133 to win, the Capitals easily struck the winning runs with 5 wickets and 7 balls to spare.
Abdullah Al Mamoon scored a blistering 45 off 39 balls with four fours and a six.
Following his anchoring knock, batting all-rounder Sabbir Rahman’s blistering cameo of 21 runs led the Capitals over the line at the back.
Among the bowlers for the Warriors, Mohammad Nawaz took 3 wickets for just 21 runs in his four overs, while Tanzim Hasan Saqib and Sandeep Lamichane claimed one wicket each.
Dhaka Capitals’ five-wicket win moved them to second spot in the BPL 2025-26 standings, behind Chattogram Royals on net run rate, while Rajshahi Warriors slipped to fourth spot.
