Sylhet: Pakistan’s emerging fast bowler Ihsanullah on Thursday joined Nogali Express ahead of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) 2025-26 scheduled to be held from December 26 to January 23.
The announcement was made by the newly incorporated franchise on its official social media handles by sharing a picture of the right-arm pacer.
“Ihsanullah has arrived with fire bullets,” the Express captioned a social media post.
The 23-year-old is expected to make his PPL debut on Friday when Nogali Express begin their campaign against Chattogram Royals at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium on Friday after a curtain-raiser between Rajshahi Warriors and home side Sylhet Titans.
Ihsanullah, who has represented Pakistan in one ODI and four T20Is, received the biggest bid among Pakistani players as he was picked up by Express for 28000 United States Dollar (USD) in the C category of overseas players.
The right-arm pacer was earlier signed by Rangpur Riders but did not play a single match.
Notably, a total of 15 Pakistani cricketers have been roped in by different franchises for the upcoming edition of the BPL. Of those 15, 11 were signed outright, while four national cricketers, including Ihsanullah, attracted buyers at the player auction held in Dhaka on November 30.
This edition of the tournament will feature six teams, down from seven last season.
Dhaka Capitals and Rangpur Raiders remain in the 2024-25 season, while Chattogram, Rajshahi and Sylhet are the three teams undergoing ownership changes.
As a result, Chittagong Kings, Darbar Rajshahi and Sylhet Strikers dropped out of the league, making way for the newly renamed Chattogram Royals, Rajshahi Warriors and Sylhet Titans, while Nogali Express were later added to the fold.
