Dubai: The International Cricket Council (ICC) on Friday unveiled the official anthem for the much-anticipated 2026 Men’s T20 World Cup, to be held in India and Sri Lanka from February 7 to March 8, titled ‘Feel the Thrill’.
According to the apex body, the two-minute-long soundtrack was composed by renowned Indian musician Anirudh Ravichandar, who thanked him for the opportunity and noted that the anthem was an attempt to bring the global fans closer together.
In a statement released by the ICC, Ravichandar said, “Every joy, every silence, every heartbeat joins in the same music when it comes to cricket.”
“It’s a feeling, a feeling. I’m excited to be associated with the Feel the Thrill campaign and the official song. It’s our attempt to unite fans around the world in a spirited unity, over and above the fierce field competition that’s unfolding across the subcontinent.”
The music video featured compilations of memorable moments from the previous edition of the extravaganza, including Pakistan’s title win in 2009 under the leadership of Younis Khan.
ICC CEO Sanchok Gupta advocated using the anthem to connect fans and turn the 20-team tournament into a global celebration.
“The ICC’s pinnacle events are global cultural extravaganzas that combine the best of lifestyle, entertainment, community and experiential diversity, with a compelling athletic spectacle at their heart,” Gupta said.
“The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup is a unique tournament, thrilling and expressive, where moments become lifelong memories for players and fans alike.
“The official anthem for the tournament wants to bring this spirit to life, using its music to connect fans, celebrate diversity and become a shared global celebration of the best our sport has to offer.”
