KARACHI: Former England cricketer and popular commentator David Lloyd has hailed the remarkable impact Pakistan pacer Hasan Ali has had since joining Yorkshire during the 2026 Vitality Blast.

During a recent interview with a local sports site, Lloyd highlighted Hasan’s infectious personality, on-field energy and ability to entertain supporters, saying the Pakistan pacer has quickly become one of Yorkshire’s most popular players while playing a key role in the club’s campaign.

“I tell you what, I’ve seen Hasan Ali. He’s a box office hit, that bloke. What a character. They’re terrific signings, and the pair of them have had a real impact on Yorkshire cricket. Hasan, in particular, has become a fan favourite. He even does mic drops with his bat,” Lloyd said.

Despite Hasan’s impressive individual performances, Yorkshire failed to progress to the semi-finals, losing to Somerset in the quarter-final four.

The right-arm pacer ended the tournament as the leading wicket-taker with 27 wickets from 12 matches at an impressive economy rate of 8.02.

In his four Vitality Blast campaigns with Yorkshire, Hasan has now taken 71 wickets in 34 matches, further underlining his consistency in English domestic cricket.

The 32-year-old has enjoyed an illustrious international career, representing Pakistan in 27 Tests, 68 One-Day Internationals (ODIs) and 57 Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is).

Across all three formats, he has taken 262 wickets and is one of Pakistan’s most experienced fast bowlers.

In addition to international success, Hasan has built an impressive franchise cricket resume, having played in several major T20 leagues around the world, including Pakistan Super League (PSL), Australia’s Big Bash League (PBL), Lanka Premier League (LPL), Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) and Caribbean Premier League (CPL).
