LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Saturday confirmed the special rewards for the franchises for the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 11 final at the Gaddafi Stadium here on Sunday.
According to the cricket board, according to a separate reward formula, the winning team will be awarded USD 500,000, while the runners-up will receive USD 300,000.
Also, the PCB has set aside USD 200,000 for a franchise with the best player development efforts, while the tournament-winning prize for players includes USD 500,000.
“For the first time in HBL PSL history, the winning franchise will receive USD 500,000, the runners-up will receive USD 300,000, while the franchise with the best player development efforts will be awarded USD 200,000. 500,000,” the PCB said in a statement.
The confirmation comes in line with PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi’s announcement in November last year, in which he revealed a new reward system for franchises in the upcoming editions, while also completing the development of the marquee league.
Notably, the much-awaited PSL 11 final will be between 2017 champions Peshawar Zalmi and tournament debutants Hyderabad Kingsmen.
Zalmi won the qualifier against Islamabad United by 70 runs to reach the final, while Kingsmen, who finished fourth after the league stage, beat Multan Sultans and three-time champions respectively in two eliminators to book their place at the summit.
The two teams clashed in the league stage of the ongoing eight-team tournament, which saw Zalmi win by four wickets in a last-ball thriller.
