
Adelaide: Hasan Ali’s crucial bowling and Chris Lynn’s explosive innings helped the Adelaide Strikers dominate the Brisbane Heat in Match 17 of the Big Bash League (PBL) at the Adelaide Oval on Wednesday.
Electing to bat first, Brisbane Heat struggled against a bowling attack from a controlled strikers and were bowled out for 121 runs in 19.4 overs.
Tail-ender Matthew Kuhneman was brilliant for the Heat, unbeaten on 31 off 22 balls with one four and three sixes.
Middle-order batsman Hugh Weibgen scored 28 off 33 balls, including a four and a six, while the rest of the order failed to make a significant impact.
Jamie Overton led the bowling effort for the Strikers, finishing with impressive figures of 3/19 from four overs. Hasan Ali and Liam Scott took two wickets each to dismantle the Heat’s batting line-up.
Chasing a modest target, the Adelaide Strikers lost 3 wickets in 14.3 overs but Chris Lynn scored 79 off 41 balls with 6 fours and 6 sixes to win the match.
Captain Matthew Short scored 19 runs off 27 balls, Mackenzie Harvey scored 11 runs and Jerseys Wadia scored one run off 2 balls.
The win saw the Adelaide Strikers remain fourth on the points table with two wins and two losses from four matches, amassing four points and a net run-rate of 0.395.
