Pakistan batsman Gul Feroza has been officially reprimanded and given a demerit point after being found guilty of a Level 1 breach of the ICC Code of Conduct during Pakistan’s ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 Group A match against Australia on Tuesday.
Sanctions relating to breach of ICC Code of Conduct 2.2 for players and player support staff, which includes misuse of cricket equipment, clothing, ground equipment, fixtures and fittings during an international match.
In the second over of Pakistan’s innings, Feroza responded to his dismissal by aggressively throwing his bat and gloves near the team dugout.
As it was his first offense within a 24-month period, a demerit point was added to his disciplinary record.
Feroza pleaded guilty and accepted the sanction proposed by match referee Michael Perera of the Emirates ICC International Match Referees Committee. Consequently, no formal investigation is required.
On-field umpires Sue Redfern and Vrinda Rathi took the charge, with third umpire Jacqueline Williams and fourth umpire Shatira Zakir Jesi.
Under the ICC Code of Conduct, Level 1 offenses carry a minimum fine of official reprimand and a maximum fine of 50 percent of a player’s match fee, plus one or two demerit points.
Meanwhile, Pakistan’s disappointing Women’s T20 World Cup campaign continues, with the team already eliminated from Group A after losing all four matches. They remain scoreless and have a net run rate of -2.831.
Pakistan recently failed to chase down the 200-run target and were bowled out for 86, losing by 113 runs. The Green Shirts will close their campaign against the Netherlands in Bristol on Saturday.
