
Bristol: England beat India by nine wickets to take a 3-0 lead in the fourth T20I of the five-match T20I series at the County Ground on Thursday.
Batting first, India posted 158-7 in the allotted 20 overs with skipper Shreyas Iyer leading the way with a brilliant half-century, while the rest of the batting line-up failed to make a significant contribution.
Iyer was unbeaten on 80 off 49 balls with 4 fours and 5 sixes, while Shivam Dubey scored 22 off 23 balls including 2 fours.
Opener Vaibhav Suryavanshi scored 15 runs off 10 balls with a four and a six, while Abhishek Sharma added 16 runs off 14 balls with 2 fours.
Wicketkeeper-batsman Ishan Kishan also struggled, managing just four off six balls. Tilak Verma scored 11 runs off 8 balls, including a six, while Washington Sundar and Axar Patel were dismissed for 5 and one run respectively.
For England, Jofra Archer and Josh Tongu took two wickets each while Will Jacks and Adil Rashid took one wicket each.
In reply, the Three Lions, chasing a victory target of 159, were bowled out for just 159 runs in 13.5 overs thanks to an unbeaten performance by opener Phil Salt and captain Harry Brook.
Brook top-scored with 79 off 35 balls with 8 fours and 4 sixes, while Salt remained unbeaten on 59 off 42 balls with 9 fours and a six.
Wicketkeeper-batsman Jos Buttler was the only England player to fall, while Arshdeep Singh scored 8 runs off one ball, including a six.
The fifth and final T20I of the series will be played in Southampton on Saturday.
