
KARACHI: Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have selected rising South African all-rounder Dian Forrester, who represented Rawalpindis in Pakistan Super League (PSL) 11, as an injury replacement for the cash-strapped Indian Premier League (IPL) till May 31, 2026.
Acquired by Bintis for Rs 6 million in a historic player auction in February this year, Forrester represented the franchise in six matches during which he amassed 132 runs at a remarkable average of 44 and a strike rate of 171.42.
He also took two wickets in his first PSL series, both of which came in the Bindis’ second meeting with three-time champions Islamabad United.
Following his all-round brilliance in the PSL, Forrester, who has represented South Africa in five T20Is, signed with CSK which will earn him INR 7.5 million.
The 25-year-old South African all-rounder replaced five-time champion Jamie Overton, who was ruled out of the tournament with a right thigh injury.
“Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have named a replacement for Jamie Overton, who has been ruled out for the remainder of the season due to a right hamstring injury,” the IPL said in a statement.
“Dian Forrester to join CSK for Rs 75 lakh to replace Overton.”
Representing Joburg Super Kings in South Africa’s SA20 this year, Forrester played 11 matches during which he scored 175 runs at a whopping average of 58.33 and a strike rate of 165.09.
