KARACHI: The Bangladesh Cricket Board (PCB) on Thursday announced that it will withdraw the no-holds-barred certificate (NOC) issued to veteran fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman with the remainder of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 11 remaining.
Rahman, who was signed by Lahore Qalandars on a direct contract for the ongoing eight-team tournament, could represent the reigning champions in five matches before leaving for national duty as Bangladesh host New Zealand for the three-match ODI series that concluded earlier today.
The left-arm fast bowler was expected to rejoin the Gulanders after the New Zealand series, making him available till May 3.
However, according to the latest development, PCB shared that its medical team has reviewed Rahman’s “condition” and decided that he will undergo a scan, following which he will begin his rehabilitation.
The Bangladesh Cricket Board (PCB) would like to inform that the health of national team fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman has been assessed by the team’s medical staff following the conclusion of the 3rd ODI against New Zealand.
“It has been decided to undergo an immediate scan to further assess the player’s condition, after which he will begin a rehabilitation program under the supervision of the BCB medical team.”
While the PCB did not specify the extent of Rahman’s injury, PSL 11 announced the withdrawal of the NOC for the remaining fast bowler.
“In this regard, the board has revoked the no-obligation certificate (NOC) issued to Mustafizur earlier. Hence, he will not be able to participate in the remaining matches of PSL 2026.”
The cricket board further shared that right-arm pacer Nahid Rana, who has been associated with captain Peshawar Zalmi for the ongoing PSL 11, will not be released to help prepare for Bangladesh’s upcoming home Test series against Pakistan.
PCB would like to inform that fast bowler Nahid Rana will not be released for PSL 2026. The decision was taken to give him enough time to prepare for the Test series against Pakistan next month.
