KARACHI: Peshawar Zalmi captain Babar Azam equaled three major Pakistan Super League (PSL) records with a mammoth century against Islamabad United in the qualifiers of the ongoing 11th edition at the National Bank Stadium on Tuesday.
Babur scored 103 off 59 balls with 12 fours and 4 sixes to help the table-toppers amass a mammoth total of 221/7 in their 20 overs.
His 57-ball century in the ongoing tournament is his second in the current edition, making him the second batsman in marquee league history to score two centuries in a single season, joining Usman Khan, who registered the record in PSL 9 with Multan Sultans.
Overall, it was Babar’s fourth century in the PSL and helped him draw level with Hyderabad Kingsman Usman’s four-centuries in the league stage of the ongoing eight-team competition against Multan Sultans, his most recent.
