London: Australia beat England by seven wickets in the final of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 at Lord’s on Sunday to clinch a record seventh title.

Chasing a target of 151, Australia crossed the line for the loss of just 3 wickets in 17.1 overs thanks to a half-century from wicketkeeper-batsman Beth Mooney and a key contribution from Phoebe Litchfield.

Mooney top-scored with 64 off 49 balls with 10 fours, while Litchfield missed out on a half-century with 48 off 35 balls including 6 fours and 2 sixes.

Elise Perry remained unbeaten on 13 off 12 balls with 2 fours, while openers Georgia Wall and Ashley Gardner chipped in with 9 and 3 respectively.

Charlie Dean, Lauren Bell and Sophie Ecclestone took one wicket each for England.

Earlier, after being asked to bat first, the hosts made 150-4 in their allotted 20 overs, unbeaten by captain Nat Sciver-Friend and Freya Kemp.

Skiver-Friend scored an unbeaten 58 off 52 balls with 5 fours, while Kemp scored an unbeaten 44 off 28 balls including 4 fours and a six.

England’s openers failed to provide a solid start, with Danny Wyatt-Hodge hitting Amy Jones for a six inside 8.

Alice Capsey added 23 runs from 20 balls including 2 fours and a six, while Heather Knight was dismissed cheaply with 2 runs from 6 balls.

For Australia, Kim Garth, Lucy Hamilton, Sophie Molyneux and Annabel Sutherland took one wicket each.

The win marks Australia’s seventh Women’s T20 World Cup title. They first lifted the trophy in 2010 before successfully defending it in 2012 and 2014.

After missing out on the 2016 edition, Australia reclaimed the crown in 2018 and won back-to-back titles in 2020, 2023 and now 2026, further cementing their dominance in women’s T20 cricket.
