
JOHANNESBURG: Aidan Markram, Laura Walvaard and Simon Harmer emerged as the biggest winners at the Cricket South Africa (CSA) Awards 2026 after outstanding performances across formats, while Lungi Ngidi and Quinton de Kock also picked up several honours.
Veteran off-spinner Harmer was named Test Player of the Year for the April 2025 to April 2026 awards season following a remarkable red-ball campaign.
He took 30 wickets in four Tests, including an eight-wicket haul in Rawalpindi to help South Africa level the series against Pakistan. Harmer then went on to whitewash India’s memorable series, posting match figures of 8-51 in Kolkata and 9-101 in Guwahati.
South Africa Women’s captain Wohlward enjoyed another exceptional year, winning the Women’s Player of the Year, SA Women’s Player of the Year and Women’s ODI Player of the Year.
The stylish opener was instrumental in South Africa’s run to the 2025 Women’s ODI World Cup final, finishing as the tournament’s leading run-scorer with 571 runs at 71.37, including centuries in both the semi-final and final.
He also topped South Africa’s batting rankings during the ODI series in New Zealand, scoring 330 runs in five T20Is against India and earning the Man of the Series award.
Markram has been named SA Men’s Player of the Year and SA Men’s Player of the Year in the men’s all-format category after leading South Africa to victory in all formats in last year’s ICC World Test Championship win over Australia.
Fast bowler Nkiti bagged the Men’s T20 International Player of the Year award and the SA Fans Player of the Year award. His delivery to dismiss England captain Jos Buttler in the second ODI was also named the men’s delivery of the year.
Matthew Breitzke’s breakthrough season earned him the International One Day International Player of the Year award, while Dewald Previs and Kayla Reineke were named the Men’s and Women’s International Rookie of the Year respectively.
The SA20 Awards also recognized the leading performers of the competition. De Kock, the tournament’s top run-scorer, was named the SA20 Batter of the Season and the Betway SA20 Player of the Season (MVP).
Otneil Bartman received the SA20 Bowler of the Year award.
In the domestic categories, Kyle Simmonds and Mignon du Preez were crowned the men’s and women’s most valuable players, respectively. Robin Pietersen, JP Trigaard and Sandile Masengemi took home Coach of the Year honors throughout their respective tournaments.
CSA recognizes outstanding contributions beyond on-field performances. Arno Jacobs was awarded the CSA Umpires’ Umpire of the Year, Lubabalo Kukuma the CSA Umpire of the Year and Sinalo Jafta the Makaya Ndini Power of Cricket Award.
