
LAHORE: With a trilateral One-Day International (ODI) series scheduled for October-November this year, Pakistan is all set to host the upcoming assignment featuring England and Sri Lanka, sources said. Jio is super On Wednesday.
Sources further informed that Sri Lanka Cricket has confirmed its participation in the series during its Pakistan tour. The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has already agreed to participate in the tri-lateral tournament.
The schedule for the ODI series is expected to be finalized in the coming weeks.
In addition to the ODIs, the Sri Lankan team is likely to play a three-match Twenty20 International (T20I) series during the tour before the tri-series.
According to the Future Tours Program (FTP), Sri Lanka are set to tour Pakistan where they will play three Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is) and a two-match Test series as part of the ICC World Test Championship 2025-27.
The tri-series is expected to be preceded by three T20 matches in October, while the two-match Test series between Pakistan and Sri Lanka is likely to take place in November.
It is noteworthy that last year Pakistan participated in two T20 tri-series. The first, hosted by the Emirates Cricket Board, included Afghanistan and the United Arab Emirates, while the second saw Pakistan host Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe.
On 29 August 2025, Pakistan defeated Afghanistan in the final of the series hosted by the United Arab Emirates, and on 29 November 2025, they defeated Sri Lanka at home in the second tri-series in Rawalpindi, winning both matches.
Meanwhile, the Men in Green are set to face Bangladesh in a two-match Test series as part of the ICC World Test Championship 2025-27.
The first Test is scheduled from May 8 to 12 at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium and the second Test from May 16 to 20 at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium.
Experienced top-order batsman Shaun Masood will captain the Pakistan team, which consists of five players namely Abdullah Fazal, Amat Butt, Azan Awais and Muhammad Qazi Ghori.
