Dubai: Pakistan off-spinner Abrar Ahmed is back in the headlines as he leapfrogged India’s Varun Chakraborty to the second spot in the ICC Men’s T20 Bowling Rankings.

Abrar has moved up one place from third place with 736 rating points to close in on Afghanistan spinner Rashid Khan, who remains at the top with 753 points.

Elsewhere, Pakistan’s Mohammad Nawaz remains at the 12th position and pacer Salman Mirza at the 20th position. Left-arm fast bowler Shaheen Afridi also remains at the 30th position with 602 rating points.

Spinner Usman Tariq is 60th while Sufyan Mukeem, Saim Ayub and Shatab Khan remain unchanged at 68th, 71st and 73rd respectively.

Fast bowler Haris Raub is ranked 89th with 448 rating points and Abbas Afridi has moved up one place to 100th with 415 points.

In the T20I batsmen rankings, Pakistan opener Sahibzada Farhan retained his third spot with 848 rating points, while India’s Ishan Kishan took the number one spot, pushing out-of-form batsman Abhishek Sharma to the second spot.

Apart from Farhan, no other Pakistan batsman featured in the rankings till number 40, where Saim Ayub retained his spot, followed by Babar Azam at number 42, while Pakistan’s T20I captain Salman Ali Agha was at number 44.

Left-arm opener Faqar Zaman also moved up one place to 72nd with 481 points.

In the T20 all-rounders rankings, Pakistan’s Saim Ayub is third, Zimbabwe captain Sikandar Raza is first and India’s Hardik Pandya is second.

Mohammad Nawaz slipped one place to 10th, while Shadab Khan retained his position at 23rd. Faheem Ashraf moved up one place to rank 53, followed by Salman Ali Agha who climbed one place to rank 55. Shaheen Shah Afridi retained his position of 62.
