KARACHI: Australian Test cricketer Marnus Labuschagne has shared a special message with fans ahead of the historic 11th edition of the Pakistan Super League from March 26 to May 3.
Labuschagne, who captains openers Hyderabad Houston Kingsmen, expressed his excitement as the franchise prepares for its maiden campaign.
The new team has already started building momentum with a strong digital presence, engaging supporters at the forefront of competition.
As part of their pre-season campaign, the franchise released a video on its official social media platforms, introducing Lapushon as captain and giving fans a glimpse of the leadership ahead of their first PSL appearance.
In the clip, the Australian spoke passionately about representing Hyderabad and leading the team.
“Hey guys, this is Marnus Labuschagne, the captain of the Hyderabad Kingsmen. I’m really excited for this year’s PSL. I can’t wait to join the team and give the city of Hyderabad a red hot crack. I can’t wait to see you cheering for us on the field, Hyderabad fans,” said Labuschagne.
For the uninitiated, Hyderabad Kingsmen will begin their PSL 11 campaign against Lahore Qalandars on March 26 in the opening game of the tournament at the Gaddafi Stadium.
The landmark 11th edition of the league will feature eight teams for the first time, including new entrants Rawalpindis and Hyderabad Kingsmen, competing in 44 matches over 39 days.
Each team will play 10 matches in the league stage, with the top four advancing to the playoffs – Qualifier 1, Eliminator and Qualifier 2 – before the final, which is scheduled to take place on May 3 at the Gaddafi Stadium with a reserve day on May 4.
The tournament will include 12 double-headers, three of which will be held in Lahore.
With Faisalabad and Peshawar all set to host PSL matches for the first time, along with Karachi, Lahore, Multan and Rawalpindi, six venues will host the matches in Pakistan.
