Amstelveen: The Koninklijke Nederlandse Cricket Bond (KNCB) on Monday announced the 15-man squad for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, which is scheduled to be co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka from February 7 to March 8.

Wicketkeeper batsman Scott Edwards will continue to lead the European team, which has a number of experienced players, most of whom have already featured in one or more T20 World Cups.

The Dutch will open their T20 World Cup 2026 campaign against 2009 champions Pakistan in the curtain-raiser of the 20-team tournament scheduled to be played in Colombo on February 7, before facing Namibia and USA on February 10 and 13.

Their last group-stage game is scheduled against co-hosts and defending champions India at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on February 18.

Netherlands selector Ryan Cook expressed confidence that the selected players will progress to the next stage of the mega event, citing their experience in Asian conditions.

“Experience from the last few World Cups, recently playing against all the teams in our group and exposure to the conditions in Sri Lanka and India, we are confident in our preparations over the last few months,” said Ryan Cook.

“The players and staff have been working hard and making many sacrifices to get the team in the best position to win the tournament.

“We have the depth and variety of options in our squad which we feel will be useful against the opposition and experience in these situations will be important as we progress through the group stages.”
