Woodbridge: Cricket Canada on Wednesday announced the 15-man squad for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, scheduled to be co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka from February 7 to March 8.

All-rounder Dilpreet Bajwa will lead Canada in the 20-team mega-event, with experienced bowlers Kaleem Sana and Shivam Sharma in their squad who were instrumental in their perfect Americas regional qualifying campaign.

The upcoming mega-event will mark Canada’s second appearance, with their first appearance at the 2024 edition, where they suffered a group-stage exit.

Canada, drawn in Group A with Asian giants Pakistan and India, finished fourth courtesy of a historic win over established European side Ireland.

Team USA faces an equal challenge in the upcoming T20 World Cup 2026 as they are drawn in Group D along with Afghanistan, New Zealand, South Africa and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Canada will begin their campaign against South Africa in Ahmedabad on February 9 before facing the United Arab Emirates in Delhi on February 13.

They will then travel to Chennai where they will play their remaining two group-stage matches against New Zealand and Afghanistan on February 17 and 19.
